Sometimes we are lured into believing that the most expensive, or the most exotic and furthest travelled product will be the very best. We’ve all been there.
Needless to say, it’s not always the case.
Why Should We Buy British Products?
At The British Gift Co. we’ve come across some of the most decadent chocolate, the most vibrant gins, the spiciest rums, the moistest (yes we used that word, sorry) fruitcake and most beautiful scents all within arms reach, right here in the U.K.

What we can tell you is why it’s important to buy British. Now, more than ever in our lifetime, the economy needs our support as the Covid-19 pandemic threatens an arduous global recession.
The products that make up our unique gifts all tell a story, one of heritage, one of passion and one of dedication.
Many of our suppliers are small batch, with some producing their goods in their own home kitchens. They rely on traditional and artisan methods of production which maintain quality and often, by default, are much better for the environment.
Take the Cooper King Distillery near York, for example. Owners Abi and Chris built the distillery themselves, recruiting friends and family to help with the project. It is one of 3 U.K distilleries to run solely on Green Energy and, for every bottle bought, a tree is planted in the Yorkshire Dales.
Or, how about Crumbs Brewing down in Surrey who make delicious tasting beer using leftover artisan bread from their local bakers?

There is frustratingly little we can do at the moment and it is indeed a scary time. But we can buy local.
